It features a delicate fruity taste and very low acidity below 0.3%, giving it an exceptionally balanced flavor and lightness.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil PLAKIAS represents the best of Cretan nature. It is made exclusively from olives of the Koroneiki variety, grown in traditional olive groves in the Plakias region. The olives are hand-harvested and cold-pressed on the day of harvest to preserve the oil’s freshness, nutritional value, and rich aroma. Every drop is produced with a focus on quality – from careful care of the olive trees to filling in certified facilities under strict hygienic conditions.

The oil naturally contains vitamin E and valuable phenolic compounds, which act as powerful natural antioxidants. Thanks to storage in inert containers and filling into dark glass bottles or tins, it retains freshness and character. The taste is delicate, fruity, with a slight bitterness and an elegant finish – ideal for discerning gourmets. Standard packaging in dark glass or tin preserves the high quality of the product.

Olive trees grow on mineral-rich soil of southern Crete, between the Libyan Sea and the limestone gorges of Kourtaliotis and Kotsifou. This unique terroir gives the oil its characteristic aroma and mild taste, making it one of the most popular extra virgin olive oils.

The traditional family business Plakias Olive Oil has been producing olive oil for four generations. The company’s priority is to produce extra virgin olive oil that meets the highest quality standards.

The company’s production facility is located in southern Crete, in the picturesque village of Mariou, at the foot of the southern Cretan mountain massifs. This corner of the world offers breathtaking views of olive groves that stretch from the shores of the Libyan Sea to the mountain ranges, with views of the Plakias Bay.

Our olive oil processing and packaging facilities ensure the highest quality of products. The packaging facility is certified according to ISO 22000.
